WhatsApp has launched username reservations globally, allowing users to message others without the need to share their phone numbers. Some users in Kenya have already begun to see this feature available, according to Tech-ish.

Telegram is currently testing a new feature called Communities, which aims to consolidate related group chats into a single space. This addition is part of the latest beta version for Android (12.9) and continues Telegram's trend of adopting and adapting popular features from other platforms, following previous introductions like Stories and Channels.
