The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old suspect, Hafiz Ahmad, and recovered a stolen motorcycle during a routine patrol in Bauchi metropolis. According to SP Nafiu Habib, the arrest occurred around 12 pm on July 4, 2026, when officers intercepted Ahmad in the area of Karofin Madaki.

The police have clarified that a viral video showing motorcycle riders does not depict armed bandits, as speculated online, but rather vigilantes and hunters. This statement comes in response to intense reactions and concerns raised by viewers regarding the nature of the riders' activities in the state.
