Former Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Principal Prof. Waswa Balunywa has been appointed to the National Resistance Movement’s Central Executive Committee (CEC), according to a report by journalist Dickens Okello Honeystraw. The appointment was made by NRM Chairman, President Yoweri Museveni.

At 25, Hon. Lenia Charity Kevin has become the youngest member of the National Resistance Movement’s Central Executive Committee (CEC), which is responsible for making significant strategic decisions for the party. Her appointment was confirmed during a committee meeting at State House in Entebbe, where she was one of four nominees selected by Party Chairman President Yoweri Museveni.

Several Cabinet ministers from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) attended the handover ceremony for the General Secretary of the People's Liberal Union (PLU) in Kampala. Residents of the Ssese Islands in Kalangala District are voting today to elect a new Woman Member of Parliament for the 12th Parliament, following the death of former MP Helen Nakimuli in April.
