Police Football Club has strengthened its squad with two experienced players ahead of Thursday's Uganda Premier League clash against UPDF FC at Kira Road Police Arena, according to Swift Sports. The Cops are seeking to return to winning ways after opening their campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Mbarara City before suffering a 1-0 defeat to Blacks Power on Matchday 2.

Three newly promoted Uganda Premier League teams, Blacks Power, Ntugasaze FC, and Entebbe UPPC, are competing to sign Young Elephants midfielder Francis Mukasa. Entebbe UPPC is reportedly in the lead for his signature, while the other two clubs are closely monitoring the situation. Mukasa has made 29 appearances for his current team.

Lugazi FC is reportedly in advanced discussions to hire Bastu Ssemuyaba, a former assistant coach at URA FC, to enhance their coaching staff. Entebbe UPPC FC is in advanced negotiations to sign offensive midfielder Ibrahim Mugulusi from BUL FC, whose contract expired last month. Mugulusi is seeking a new challenge after spending six years with BUL FC, having previously joined from Busoga United in 2020.

Entebbe UPPC FC is nearing the completion of a two-year contract for midfielder Sharif Ssengendo, who is transferring from KCCA FC. After joining KCCA FC in 2024, Ssengendo struggled to secure playing time, leading to his decision to leave the club with one year remaining on his contract. He is set to reunite with coach Abdallah Mubiru at Entebbe UPPC FC.

Lugazi Football Club defeated Entebbe UPPC 1-0 at Hamz Stadium on Matchday 3 of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League on Wednesday, 9 September 2026, handing Entebbe UPPC their first defeat of the season. Forward Cromwell Rwothomio scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute of the match, according to Kawowo Sports.
