Jemmimah Namubiru, the Guild Representative Council representative for Mary Stuart Hall at Makerere University, has resigned in protest against the 92nd guild government. She accuses the administration of sidelining elected leaders and undermining genuine student representation in her resignation statement. Namubiru is a third-year Bachelor of Business Administration student.

Idah Nabayiga, the candidate from the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has been declared the winner of the Kalangala District Woman Member of Parliament by-election. Former Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Principal Prof. Waswa Balunywa has been appointed to the National Resistance Movement’s Central Executive Committee (CEC), according to a report by journalist Dickens Okello Honeystraw. The appointment was made by NRM Chairman, President Yoweri Museveni.
