The Ministry of Construction, through the Tanzania Roads Agency (TANROADS) in Kigoma Region, has urged residents living near road infrastructure to actively participate in protecting and maintaining these roads to ensure their longevity and safety for users. This message was conveyed by the TANROADS Kigoma Manager, Engineer Elsony.

According to Taifa Leo, women are being used by criminal gangs to lure drivers on major highways in Kenya before they are attacked with firearms and robbed of vehicles, goods, and other valuables. This new tactic has emerged amid a rise in armed robbery incidents on key transport routes such as Nairobi-Mombasa and Nairobi-Nakuru-Eldoret. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reports that attractive women are positioned along the roads pretending to be stranded or in need of urgent assistance.

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) has announced investment opportunities in six major strategic road projects through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework. This initiative follows significant legal and policy reforms implemented by the Sixth Phase Government.

David Kafulila, the Director of the Public-Private Partnership Centre, stated that the government is progressing with the development of a partnership with the private sector for the construction of the Tunduma–Igawa–Mbeya road. This initiative is expected to enhance transportation infrastructure and improve economic efficiency.
