Uganda Athletics has announced a team of 17 athletes and four officials to represent the country at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, scheduled for July 23 to August 1. The team will be led by Peruth Chemutai, the 2020 Olympic champion in the women's 3000m steeplechase.

Fourteen African nations will compete at the third Africa AirBadminton Championship at Aero Beach in Entebbe, on the shores of Lake Victoria, where Uganda's title will be challenged. According to Kawowo Sports, the 2024 champions Uganda will face defending champions Egypt alongside Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Comoros, Tunisia, Nigeria, Kenya, and Mauritius, with the report noting Uganda will not have the element of surprise this time.

The group stage draw for the 2026 Inter Islamic Secondary Schools Association of Uganda (ISSAU) Games took place on June 24th at TopTimes High School in Kyengera. The draw was presided over by Hamidu Ddumba, the head teacher of TopTimes High School and Chairperson of the ISSAU Sports Committee.

Three Ugandan universities—Busitema, Bugema and Nkumba—are representing Uganda at this year's Federation of African University Sports (FASU) Games, which began today in Cairo, Egypt. According to NTV Uganda, the three institutions form the country's delegation at the continental university sports event, which brings together student athletes from across Africa to compete in a range of disciplines.
