The Society for Family Health (SFH) has reported that shortages of essential commodities, service delivery tools, and provider training resources are significant challenges affecting the quality of family planning services in Abia and Akwa Ibom States. Dr. Eze Nwokoma, the Project Coordinator of SFH, made this statement in Abuja, highlighting the need for improvements in these areas.

Officials from Anambra and Abia States, including deputy governors and traditional rulers, convened with the National Boundary Commission (NBC) in Awka to discuss inter-state disputes. The meeting aimed to promote a peaceful resolution to the ongoing issues between the two states, highlighting the commitment of local stakeholders to address the conflicts amicably.

The inaugural South East amateur boxing championship commenced in Umuahia, Abia State, where Chidiebere Chukwuemeka from Abia defeated Chigbo Aguiyi of Ebonyi State. In another match, Israel Ogbodo from Enugu State triumphed over Ayu Jonah from Imo State. The event is being hosted at the Umuahia township stadium.
