CECAFA has announced that 12 teams, including Tanzanian club Simba and Uganda's Vipers, will participate in this year's CECAFA Kagame Cup in Kigali, Rwanda. Simba, a record six-time winner of the tournament, is returning after a seven-year absence.

Uganda's U-17 Women’s National Team, known as the Teen Cranes, successfully defended their CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship title with a 3-0 victory over Tanzania in the final held at KMC Stadium. This win marked the culmination of an impressive tournament for the Teen Cranes, who won all five of their matches.
