Combined troops of Operation HADIN KAI successfully repelled a terrorist ambush following an improvised explosive device (IED) detonation along the Damboa–Kumala road in Borno State. The incident occurred around 1 pm on July 4, according to security sources. Troops from the 19 Battalion (Mechanised), 25 Brigade were involved in the response to the attack.

Three Nigerian soldiers were reportedly killed and several others injured when their patrol vehicle struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Babanna in Borgu Local Government Area. The incident was reported by conflict and security journalist Bakatsine on social media, indicating that the explosion occurred on Saturday morning.
