Troops have arrested two individuals in connection with an attempted attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) that occurred on July 2. The incident involved a gun battle with suspected armed assailants, resulting in the death of one attacker, while others managed to flee into nearby rocky terrain. The security investigation into the attack is ongoing, according to PM News.

The Plateau Youth Council (PYC), Jos South Chapter, has condemned comments made by Prof Ayo Omotayo, the director-general of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), who reportedly referred to the Berom people as a "militia" during a national television appearance. The condemnation was expressed in a statement signed by the council's public relations officer.
