The Plateau Youth Council (PYC), Jos South Chapter, has condemned comments made by Prof Ayo Omotayo, the director-general of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), who reportedly referred to the Berom people as a "militia" during a national television appearance. The condemnation was expressed in a statement signed by the council's public relations officer.

They expressed concerns that if the issues raised by stakeholders are not addressed, the ruling party may face the risk of losing the state in the upcoming 2027 general election, according to Leadership (NG).
