A court has ruled that the land occupied by Ruaraka School is public and deemed a Sh1.5 billion payout to the appellants illegal. The judges highlighted that the appellants had developed the land, including building 196 housing units, while the schools had been on the disputed land for over thirty years without any objections.

The Court of Appeal has confirmed that the land occupied by Drive-In Primary School and Ruaraka High School is public land, rejecting an appeal from two private companies that sought compensation amounting to billions of shillings. This ruling was delivered by a three-judge bench in Nairobi on July 4.
