Lands Minister Judith Nabakooba has stepped in to address a 40-year land dispute involving over 900 residents from six villages in Bugiri. The intervention aims to resolve the longstanding issues surrounding land ownership and usage in the area.
A court has ruled that the land occupied by Ruaraka School is public and deemed a Sh1.5 billion payout to the appellants illegal. The judges highlighted that the appellants had developed the land, including building 196 housing units, while the schools had been on the disputed land for over thirty years without any objections.
