Capitec Bank has expanded its services to allow South Africans to apply for replacement Smart IDs at 127 branches across the country. This initiative aims to make it more convenient for citizens to obtain their identification documents.

The South African Department of Home Affairs has expanded its Smart ID replacement services to over 200 banks, with more than 250,000 individuals utilizing the service since its launch in March, according to SABC News.
