The Nigerian Army has renovated two secondary schools and completed various community development projects in Rivers State, coinciding with the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL). These initiatives aim to enhance civil-military relations in the country. The projects were officially handed over on Sunday, including the renovation of Community Secondary School in Rumuomasi, Obio/Akpor.
Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, emphasized the need for stronger civil-military relations to promote national development, stating that security and sustainable development are interconnected. He made these comments during a medical outreach event in Okrika, Rivers State, which was part of the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration activities.
