The Nigerian Army has renovated two secondary schools and completed various community development projects in Rivers State, coinciding with the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL). These initiatives aim to enhance civil-military relations in the country. The projects were officially handed over on Sunday, including the renovation of Community Secondary School in Rumuomasi, Obio/Akpor.

The Nigerian government is increasing its efforts to address oil theft by focusing on youth engagement and community development initiatives, with the goal of securing oil infrastructure. This strategy aims to involve local communities in protecting resources and reducing illegal activities associated with oil theft.
