Dr. Chris Kiptoo, the National Treasury Principal Secretary and Patron of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme, officially launched the fourth edition of the Kaptagat Cycling Challenge on Saturday. The event, which took place at Kaptagat Farm Resort in Elgeyo Marakwet County, is recognized as one of Kenya's premier sporting events that integrates elite cycling competition with environmental conservation efforts.

At COP30 in Belém, Brazil, Tanzania, led by James L. Laizer, chaired the African Group and advocated for a careful strategy regarding the phase-out of fossil fuels among African nations. The call for bold action highlights Tanzania's commitment to balancing tourism and environmental conservation while addressing energy needs.
