The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Parliamentary Caucus met at the Office of the President in Kampala to elect a new Executive Committee and select candidates for Uganda's two vacant seats in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA). The meeting began at 11:00 AM and included various NRM Members.

This conflict has led to the impeachment of the Leader and has caused divisions among Councillors. Reports indicate that the situation has become so severe that the roof of the Legislative building was allegedly removed during the dispute.

The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) ruled that Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna did not receive a fair hearing before the ODM removed him as secretary general. Tribunal Chair Gad Gathu noted serious procedural flaws in the handling of the case by the ODM National Executive Committee (NEC), including lack of proper notice and failure to allow Sifuna to respond to allegations.
