The National Unity Platform (NUP) has requested the Inter-party Organisation for Dialogue (IPOD) to permit Dr. Lina Zedriga Waru, the acting party president, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the party's admission to IPOD. This request was made in a letter dated June 18th from the party's Secretary General, David Lewis Rubongoya.

Andrew Nabimanya, known as Ninye Tabz and a supporter of the National Unity Platform (NUP), has been released on police bond after spending five days in detention. He was detained by unknown security operatives near the former NUP headquarters in Kampala. His release occurred at the Central Police Station in Kampala.
