Kwara State governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have called for support from religious leaders, parents, and communities to combat drug peddling and abuse in the state. This appeal was made during a program held to address the issue on July 4, 2026, with contributions from NDLEA's Kwara State Commandant, Hajia Fatima Popoola.

This statement was made by the club's President, Samuel Ojo, during the inauguration of four refurbished toilets in Lagos.

This surge has been linked to increased drug abuse among youth, high unemployment rates, and escalating family pressures. The concerns were voiced during the launch of a related initiative.
