The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions has finished its hearing regarding a petition against Dr. Yau Usman Idris, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA). The Committee's Chairman, Hon. Kwamoti Bitrus La’ori, stated that the matter is now closed and preparations for the final report will commence.

The Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) has rejected a request to dismiss a petition against Ikechukwu Ezechukwu, SAN, and two other lawyers, Barrister Smart Ukpanah and Barrister Hope Onyekwere. The decision was made during a panel sitting chaired by Mr. Kalu Umeh, SAN, where counsel for Ezechukwu, Barrister D. O. Okolo, presented the case.

The chairman of the committee rejected an application for withdrawal, citing that the committee's rules do not allow for the withdrawal of petitions once issues have been joined.
