The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced its premium motor spirit pump price for the second time in less than two weeks, lowering it from N1,210 to N1,150 per litre. This adjustment was confirmed by a market survey conducted by DAILY POST.

Filling stations in Nigeria, including MRS, AA Rano, and NIPCO, have decreased petrol prices following a reduction in the ex-depot price by Dangote Refinery to N1,075 per litre. This price cut has provided relief to consumers across the country.

According to Nukta Africa, fuel prices in the country have decreased, with petrol dropping by 96 shillings per liter, diesel by 151 shillings per liter, and kerosene by 242 shillings per liter.

According to Nairametrics, the average retail price of Premium Motor Spirit, or petrol, increased by 55.31% year-on-year, reaching N1,596.25 per litre in May 2026.

Depot prices for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), or petrol, have decreased across various terminals in Lagos, with Rain Oil leading the reduction by cutting prices by N18 per litre. Additionally, diesel prices have also seen a significant drop, falling by up to N70 per litre. This adjustment in prices comes as petroleum marketers respond to changing supply dynamics in Nigeria's downstream oil market, according to Vanguard Business.
