The Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN) has enhanced its partnership with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) to address the issue of counterfeit and low-quality renewable energy products in Nigeria. This collaboration was announced in a statement from REAN’s Head of Communications, Mr. Oisereime Lloyd-Dietake, in Abuja.

According to IOL, gridlock in South Africa is hindering the progress of renewable energy projects, posing a major obstacle to the country's green energy transition. This situation risks delaying the shift to renewable sources and could potentially lead to further electricity shortages and economic challenges.

The electricity deputy minister announced that the South African government plans to create more jobs in the renewable energy sector through the South African Renewable Energy Masterplan (SAREM).

Nkechi Okenwa, a Nigerian engineer and CEO of Energy Excell Systems, is promoting women's inclusion in the renewable energy sector through solar innovation, STEM training, and community empowerment initiatives. She is also the founder of WEESI, which focuses on enhancing women's leadership in Nigeria's energy landscape.
