Executives at the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (Nemisa) have resigned following a forensic investigation that uncovered prima facie evidence of financial misconduct related to a R50 million digital training programme. The Communications Minister has initiated a crackdown in response to the findings of the probe, which has raised concerns about the management of funds within the organization.

Former Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai appeared in two separate courts in Kaduna on Wednesday to face charges of alleged financial misconduct, abuse of office, and money laundering. These charges were filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). The proceedings took place at the Federal High Court II, overseen by Justice Hauwa’u Buhari.

The Federal High Court in the state capital has once again prohibited journalists from entering the courtroom during the trial of former governor Nasir El’Rufai. El’Rufai arrived at the court under security escort as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) continues its case against him regarding alleged financial misconduct.
