The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) announced progress in the Nithi Bridge project after receiving permission from the National Land Commission (NLC) to access necessary land. This approval, granted through an Early Entry Request, enables contractors to commence work on the new bridge alignment while the land acquisition and compensation process for affected property owners continues. The statement was released on July 1.

Residents of Diko town in Niger State organized a protest, featuring masquerades, against the proposed acquisition of 500 hectares of farmland intended for an industrial solar farming project. The demonstration highlighted cultural elements as the community expressed their opposition to the land acquisition plans.
